At 12:28 pm,on April 1 1984 as Marvin Gaye Was seated on his bed talking to his mother,Gaye’s Father shot Marvin twice.The Elder Gaye Had Been Having a heating dispute with his wife And Marving Has intervened on his mother’s behalf.The first shot,which enterred the right side of Gaye’s chest,was fatal,having perforated his vital organs.Gaye was Taken to the emerGency room of the California Hospital medical center,where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:01 pm.
The Gun Gaye used to shoot his son Had Been Giving to him by his Son Marvin Gaye as a christmas present to keep his father safe from intruders.
Following his funeral,Marvin Gaye was cremated,with part of his ashes spread near the Pacific ocean.Gaye did not leave behind a will or an insurance policY at the time of his death.Since his death,Many institutions Had posthumously bestowed Gaye with Awards And other Honors,included the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award,the rythm And Blues music Hall of fame And the RocK And Roll Hall of fame.
