Marcus Mosiah Garvey was not a Dream talker, he subsequently Walks the walk.Moreover,he was a committed and visionary freedom fighter who fought to unite the african continent by any means available.Unfortunately, his surrounding was not the right people and he was betrayed in the 1920s.
He exhorted in his own creation: »If you haven’t confidence in yourself,you’re twice defeated in the race of life,furthermore, « a people without the knowledge of their past history,origin and culture is like a Tree without roots ».
Down the line, he is a Great Man, therefore his name still lives on.Today, Jamaica counts him as a national hero.
Somebody once asked him in New york in the 1920s if he was an african or a jamaican?he responded: »i will not give up a continent for an island ».
More streets should be named after him in the whole of Africa.
